Short hair style or Long hair style?

I have long, naturally straight as a stick, one length hair. And I've pretty much always had long hair that I've kept natural (no heat styling or rollers, etc.)





But lately I've been thinking about getting it cut, to about one inch past my shoulders (still all one length because that's just easy for me.) And curling the ends. Like Elizabeth Montgomery's hairstyle in Bewitched.

Is short hair easier to take care of? My current hair literally takes 5 hours to dry. And I want a more adult look. Or should I just stick to the natural hair + continue to grow it out like a Maria Brady style.





Just an FYI. My face shape is oval. And my clothing style is very conservative, feminine. I wear dresses, skirts, cardigan sweaters, etc.

I like that hair (btw the site doesn't work) but i know what you mean. Short hair needs a lot of maintenance, that hairstyle probably used a lot of hairspray, which makes you stupid!! (scientifically proven.So think about it before you do cut it: If you had a bad hair day with long hair you can just tie it up, but a short hair can drive you crazy.
I don't think you should get it cut. My friend had her long hair cut and she regretted it. I think you should seriously think about it. Maybe try a wig in a similar style and see if you like what you see. Or if you really want to do something different, get layers or try highlights.

I know what that hairdo looks like and it is a pretty one and considering your style of dressing and your face shape, you can totally go for it. I'm sure it'll look good on you. Although it would be better if we knew what you looke like. Still good luck.

try the half up half down look with a nice hair clamp with a pin, looks great with long hair

I have long straight black hair like yours. I have grown it, cut it, then grown it back so I understand how difficult it is to decide to cut it. If you are nervous then you could try cutting a few inches off at every hair trim so you work your way up to your desired length.





You have an oval face so most styles will probably suit you. I myself added long layers to frame my face but kept the length in the back long. This suits me because my hair is still long but I have the versatility and volume that I want.





At the end, it is really your choice. None of us know what you look like so it is really hard to tell from a description. Good luck....
